The Competition

STEP 2. Registration fee: Please note that registration is free
 
STEP 3. Review Artwork Guidelines and  Official Rules: Kindly visit our website https://thethinkartist.com/ to ensure that your artwork complies with our terms and conditions as stipulated in the contest’s registration form.
 
STEP 4. Create an Artwork: Participants of the contest are to make a 90seconds video of themselves creating an original piece of art with the theme Veins of the Earth” either in (Painting, Drawing or Sculpture) by hand using any material of their choice.
 
STEP 5. Submit the Artwork with Entry Form: Endeavor to submit a clear image of your artwork accompanied with a completed Online Entry Form and 90seconds video showing the processes involved in making your artwork between 12th October 2024 and 30th November 2024. Visit our Instagram handle @thinkartfestival to view videos of previous entries.
 
Submit Online:  Videos and clear images of entries should be no smaller than 1MB and no larger than 5MB in size. The acceptable digital file formats for images should be JPEG. Videos and image of Artwork must be titled in the following way: [LAST NAME, FIRST NAME-Artwork Title].

Before beginning your artwork, make sure to review the Contest Rules for more information on the types of art we looking for. For example, the Think art festival accepts only original 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional pieces of artwork students have created by hand, such as painting, drawing or sculpture.

 

See the Questions and answer section for tips on how to upload your artwork. Although the application process is online, participants will be required to mail in their original artworks to the exhibition ground 2 days to the grand finale.

A panel of artists, and art collectors would judge entries submitted for the Think Art Festival. Artworks would be evaluated on their quality, originality, and adherence to the theme. The judges will use a grading rubric to evaluate each work.

 

When creating your artwork, you should think about these questions:

 

  • Does your artwork reflect your understanding of the contest theme?
  • Does your artist’s statement also support your proper understanding of the contest theme?
  • Does your piece show that you have a good understanding of art and that you use these art elements, such as line, shape, form, value, composition, and colour to effectively portray the theme?
  • Is your artwork original, inventive, and shows off your individual style?
  • Is your artwork neat? Are there tears, smudges, and/or smear marks?
  • Does your artwork invoke emotions for your viewers? Is it striking and memorable

Execution of Concept

Artwork theme is from an age-appropriate point of view and the content is set apart from artwork by previous winners.

Is the artwork solid? Are the colors used in executing the artwork in balance? Does it have enough detail?


Finishing

Art work should be properly finished; showcasing a clean and well executed work.

ORIGINALITY: Artwork must be original and not plagiarized, works must be solely original  and shouldn’t have been previously published, won prior awards, exhibited, or displayed publicly (i.e., disclosed beyond the youth’s immediate circle of friends and family) through any means.


SUBJECT MATTER: Artwork must be unique and peculiar to the applicant only. The works should also include a written description of not more than 50 words.


HAND-DRAWN: Artwork must be solely created by hand using any preferred medium of your choice.


PAPER SIZE: Artwork should be created on paper/canvass and should be no  smaller than 8.5 to 11 inches (215.9mm x 279.4 mm) in size.


DIGITAL FILES: Image files of Artwork (e.g., digital photograph of a hand-drawn Artwork or a digital image of the computer-created Artwork) should be no smaller than 1MB and no larger than 5MB in size. Acceptable digital art file formats are GIF, JPEG, JPG, PNG, and PDF. Artwork digital files must be titled in the following way: [LAST NAME, FIRST NAME-Artwork Title]. Printed copies may be requested if the Artwork is selected for an award.


INELIGIBLE CONTENT: Artwork must not contain lewd, obscene, explicit, disparaging, defamatory, libelous, or otherwise inappropriate content Please note that only original artworks will be accepted. Also note that works which have been entered for other competitions elsewhere or works whose ownership have been transferred either through sale or other means of exchange will not be accepted. Art works that may soil or damage other works or the items and facilities in the exhibition hall or too bulky will be disqualified. Artworks submitted without a signed or completed entry form will be considered ineligible.
